Lake Travis

Located some 15 miles northwest of downtown Austin, Lake Travis is a flood-control reservoir fed by the winding Colorado River. The fun never stops on Lake Travis. Due to its size and depth, Lake Travis can be utilized for more lake activities than most of the other area lakes. Those additional activities include sailing, house boating, and cabin cruisers. This lake is one of the two non-constant lakes in the Highland Lakes Chain. However, deep water and floating docks keep the lake fun going. Known for its relaxing vistas and active watersports community, Lake Travis offers some of the area's most attractive real estate properties.

Lake Austin

A little further down the Colorado River from Lake Travis is Lake Austin. Lake Austin is a constant level lake with numerous tributaries that snake across the stunning green terrain found west of the downtown area. Many gorgeous parks and wildlife refuges are located throughout the Lake Austin region. Homes for sale on Lake Austin are among the most expensive homes in Texas. Location, location, location!

Lake LBJ

Another beautiful constant-level lake on the Highland Lakes chain is Lake LBJ, a scenic body of water that stretches over ten square miles. Residents along the shore enjoy many aquatic activities, including jet skiing, wake surfing, and kayaking. The numerous marinas and resorts around Lake LBJ provide easy access points to the lake to go boating or relax with family on the open water. Stunning waterfront homes at Lake LBJ can be found in communities like Horseshoe Bay, Granite Shoals, and Sunrise Beach.

Inks Lake

Nestled alongside the massive Inks Lake State Park, this location is perfect for homeowners who enjoy outdoor activities like water skiing, boating, or hiking. This lake is one of four constant-level lakes on the Highland Lakes chain. The many outcroppings and alcoves found along the shore provide endless hours of exploration for the whole family. Real estate around Inks Lake is highly desirable and perfect for those who wish to escape the trappings of noisy, big city life.

Lake Marble Falls

This lake, located downriver of Lake LBJ, combines small-town charm and metropolitan excitement perfectly. This constant-level lake, although smaller than others, is not short on activities, with several waterfront restaurants and bars. The water is known for being calmer due to less boat traffic. Because this lake is not as well known, you get more bang for your buck for a Lake Marble Falls Home For Sale as opposed to a similar house on Lake LBJ.

Lake Buchanan

With nearly 40 square miles of water and over 120 miles of beautiful shoreline, Lake Buchanan is another highly desirable place in the Texas Hill Country to call home. This non-constant level lake has plenty of depth for water activities to be enjoyed with or without a drought. The inspiring scenery throughout Lake Buchanan and the Colorado River offers some truly breathtaking views and the perfect environment for family fun.
