Inks Lake is one of the smallest and least known of the Highland Lakes. This actually makes it desirable for most of the residents. Inks Lake is part of the Highland Lakes Colorado River chain of lakes and immediately follows Lake Buchanan, located just above Lake LBJ. It is one of the shortest highland lakes coming in at only four miles long; however, it is also one of the most beautiful. The boating and fishing is perfect for all activities, stocked with bass, catfish, crappie and sunfish. Inks Lake may be most known for Inks Lake State Park, a 1,200 acre wooded area that that borders the lake. The park offers paddle boats, kayaks and canoe rentals for even more fun in the sun. Miles of beautiful hiking and biking trails will take you around different parts of this one of a kind lake. Plenty of wildlife such as deer, turkey and other furry friends might even greet you along the way. Overnight camping along with BBQing is welcomed and a favorite past time of all park visitors.
